About the Center

Launched in 1997, the Center for Teaching and Learning is designed to provide resources and training to increase the effectiveness and scholarly productivity of Palmer faculty members across all three campuses. The Center for Teaching and Learning is at the heart of academic life for faculty. The Center provides essential resources and development opportunities to support and empower faculty members, especially in the areas of instructional effectiveness and academic achievement, thereby strengthening the College’s academic programs and overall mission. Palmer College, similar to other professional training institutions, is not a think tank, research institution or sterile warehouse of knowledge. However, research and scholarly activities are essential to effective teaching. Scholarship informs teaching.

The CTL supports the educational programs of Palmer College of Chiropractic by providing faculty with the resources, training and support for improved teaching and student learning.  In addition to coordinating faculty development activities, the CTL supports academic technology including classroom audiovisual and presentation equipment, computerized presentations and curricular software, production of visual aids, web page development and other classroom presentation needs.  Digital media workstations and staff support are available to faculty and staff for hands-on scanning, editing or other media production projects.  We can answer questions and offer assistance with your projects as needed.  Limited services are also provided to students & student clubs as resources are available.
