Awards CenterThelma Fordyce-Mack Achievement AwardsThe Thelma Fordyce-Mack Achievement Awards recognize significant accomplishments in teaching, research, or academic support occurring over the preceding 12 months. The award cycle is announced in January of each year with submissions due by mid-April. A peer review process is used to determine whether submissions are eligible for an award. Announced annually at the Faculty Recognition Luncheon in July, the awards include a certificate of recognition and a monetary award whose funds are generated annually from the Thelma Fordyce-Mack estate. The Faculty Achievement Committee is responsible for overseeing the process. All faculty, residents and teaching staff (full-time) at Palmer College who are actively involved with special projects may apply for a Thelma Fordyce-Mack Award. Those working in clinics, academics, administration, research, and academic support are welcome to apply for the award. Applicants may self-nominate or may be nominated by a supervisor, peer(s), staff, or student(s). Those who are nominated by someone else will be notified of the nomination and will be required to complete appropriate paperwork, if interested in pursuing the award. Thelma Fordyce-Mack Award Application, Guidelines, Checklist and Project Participant Signature Form Thelma Fordyce-Mack Award Timeline Faculty of the YearThe purpose of the "Outstanding Faculty of the Year Award" is to publicly honor ranked faculty members of Palmer College Davenport who exemplify high standards and qualities of educational excellence, scholarly pursuit, attributed by students and faculty alike. Only one full-time ranked faculty member may be honored each year. Recipients of this award should have evidenced a significant contribution to the Palmer Community, possessing the ability to further inspire faculty collegiality and leadership. The award cycle is announced in September of each year with nominations due by October. Review of nominations and selection of the top three candidates to be interviewed occurs in November with the Faculty of the Year award announced at the annual Holiday Party. The award includes an engraved plaque and a monetary award which is bestowed by the Office of the President of the College. The award process is administered by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs who has extended responsibility to the Faculty Achievement Committee.
