7. Course WithdrawalsPolicy Number: 7 Doctor of Chiropractic Program: Grade 10 – Withdrawal:A grade of “10” signifies that a student has officially withdrawn from a course on or before the College’s published drop date (the drop date is set to coincide with the last date to receive a pro-rated federal refund on financial aid). This grade does not produce quality points and does not affect the GPA. A student may only withdraw from any given course twice. Grade 11 – Administrative Withdrawal:A grade of “11” signifies that the College has granted a withdrawal for non-academic reasons from all core curriculum courses a student has taken in a given academic term. Such a grade is discretionary, issued under extraordinary circumstances to a student who has suffered physical and/or emotional illness, which, in the judgment of the Director of Student Academic Affairs, subjects the student to an unreasonable burden of completing course work in a timely fashion. An approved qualified professional must document a student’s incapacity. The student must officially withdraw from all classes through the Office of Student Academic Affairs, and must have a signed release before re-matriculation is granted. A grade 11 does not carry hours or credits, does not produce quality points, does not affect a GPA, and does not count against a student’s allowable withdrawal. An administrative withdrawal can be issued before or after the drop date of a given academic term. Note: Administrative withdrawals will not be issued for individual courses, but for all courses of a given term. Course withdrawals are officially handled through the Registrar’s office. |
