Along with an interest in the sport, you must be dedicated to the
chiropractic profession. The academic program at Palmer is rigorous
and demands commitment. To enroll at Palmer, you must have certain
prerequisite courses, which can be taken at nearby Scott Community
College. You are allowed to participate in rugby while preparing
for admission to Palmer.
Once you are a Palmer student, you will be immersed in classroom
and clinic activities. The first year emphasizes basic sciences.
The second focuses on diagnostic skills, philosophy, and pre-clinical
instruction. The final trimesters are full of supervised clinic
work and practice-management training.
The coaches, players, and club officers are all Palmer students.
Most participants feel rugby provides a necessary release from the
scholastic workload. The touring schedule is arranged to fit the
academic program. Playing rugby gives you first-hand exposure to
sports chiropractic. There is also valuable contact with people
who offer guidance and information about your training as a chiropcractic.
Finally, when your studies and days on the rugby field are finished,
you will join the large group of active rugby alumni worldwide.
